Mr. Donny Cheh

Math & Physics Specialist (Sec/JC)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from NUS

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

Mr. Donny has been teaching since 2004, starting as a private tutor in his undergraduate days, to teaching full time in a tuition centre (2008 onwards). He has also taught in various secondary schools, like Gan Eng Seng Sec, Woodlands Sec & CHIJ TP Sec. His teaching experience in the classrooms has helped him understand the challenges of a high student to teacher ratio, which led him to this current model of 1 : 5 ratio.

Upon graduating from NUS, he worked as an aerospace engineer. However, it did not take long for him to realise that my dream career was in teaching, not engineering. Hence, it was an easy decision for him to switch to a full-time position as an academic coach. His background in engineering provided him with both the theoretical and practical knowledge of Physics and Mathematics, allowing him to bring the subject beyond the textbook.

Since 2009, he has taught numerous batches of Secondary & JC Math & Physics students and improved their grades within a short span of time. He has also amassed an in-depth knowledge of the current O and A Level syllabuses, and learnt to recognise the many common misconceptions and difficulties that students make in learning. Mr Donny has taught more than a 1000 student a year since he started, and helped >70% students in achieving their As and A1s, many improved their grades by 3 levels or more.

Mr. Riandy Tanri

Chemistry Specialist (Sec/JC)

Mr. Riandy holds a Bachelor of Science and graduated with an impressive 1st Class Honours in Chemistry & Biological Chemistry from NTU. He was awarded the full undergraduate scholarship and The Dean’s List twice, for being part of the exclusive group of students in achieving the top 5 percentile amongst the entire school cohort.

Apart from his impressive academic credentials, Mr. Riandy has also gathered more than a decade of experience in chemistry tuition or coaching over 1000 students from various schools to date. He is not only well-versed in the current Singapore MOE syllabus, but also capable of producing top-level students and many who made significant progress in their grades. As a firm believer that learning has to be fun, he likes to liven up the class with jokes and interesting stories. From students’ testimonies, Mr. Riandy is well-known for being experienced, patient, fun, and clear in delivering complicated chemistry concepts.

His passion for teaching started when he was young when he did voluntary teaching at school during his university time. With his extraordinary academic result back then, it is not difficult for him to get a graduate scholarship for the research study. However, Mr. Riandy chose to realise his passion, devoting himself to teaching roles, trying to genuinely make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Mr. Adam Rong

Lower Sec Science & Biology Specialist (Sec)

Mr. Adam holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Science from University of Warwick, specialising in Molecular biology, Immunology, and Stem Cells research. His graduate studies and various internships has equipped him with advanced laboratory skills, research methodologies, and a deep understanding stem cell development, particularly in mice tongues. This was built upon a strong academic foundation established during my secondary education, where I achieved straight A’s in all mathematics and Science Chemistry and Physics subjects of the GCSE ‘O’ Levels.

During his secondary school days, he was particularly inspired by the teachings of his passionate science teachers and improved greatly under their tutelage. Now as a full-time teacher, he hopes to be the source of inspiration and guidance for students who a struggling with the subject.
